Three stories of women who survive abuse by people they love; each one finds emotional healing in the process of finding her own voice. The change starts when you make the decision that, this time, Im packing my own bags on this journey of life. All the other choices come into play after that big one. These three stories all involve women in the process of learning about that packing: what to take with, what to leave behind, who to talk to about it all.
Gwyneth lost everything of meaning in her life in one night. A year and a day filled with unusual mentors bring her back into the world. Dannah wont believe in the angels she paints until her friends help her find her true self. Joanne McLain is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years experience in mental health and human services. She has spent much of her life wandering on the boundaries among Psychology, mysticism and the natural world.
C.J. Prince had her first gallery show in her Grandmothers closet and practices Tai Chi connecting Heaven & Earth. She is included in the anthology Leaning Into the Wind: Women Write from the Heart of the West. She wrote columns, feature stories, book reviews and articles for several Colorado newspapers for 18 years.
The author of The Urban Speech Team and "When Student Empowerment Works Too Well," William C. Thomas has taught all aspects of high school English for almost 30 years and is recognized in successive editions of Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
